TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY -
Past Funded Activities
LIST OF OTHER SEE ACTIVITIES:
Spread Spectrum Received Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
Test Guide
Organization: Georgia Tech Research Institute
Principal Investigator: M.L. Wheeler
Objectives: The objective of this test guide is to
document appropriate unit level test methods and techniques
for the performance of EMI testing of Direct Sequence (DS)
spread spectrum receivers.
Investigation Into the Effects of Microsecond Power Line
Transients on Line-Connected Capacitors
Organization: EMC Compliance
Principal Investigator: Ken Javor
Objectives: To investigate
whether capacitor voltage ratings need to be derated for
expected spike potentials. Concerns had been voiced in the
past by NASA suppliers that MIL-STD-461 CS06-like requirements
were overly harsh and led to physically large capacitors.
SEE
Design Guide and Requirements for Electrical Deadfacing
Organization: Analex
Principal Investigator: Noel Sargent
Objectives: To present
information for understanding and mitigating the potential
hazards associated with de-mating and mating powered
electrical connectors on space flight vehicles.
LEO
Spacecraft Charging Design Guidelines
Organization: Glenn Research Center
Principal Investigators: Dale Ferguson, Barry Hilliard
Objectives: Develop and publish a
LEO Spacecraft Charging Guidelines Document
Structures and Materials Knowledgebase
Organization: CAT Services, SEE Program
Principal Investigators: Larry J. Bradford, Michael
Fling, Jody Minor
Status: Alpha Version Completed;
This activity has been put on hold indefinitely.
Objectives:
-
Development of a comprehensive
materials knowledgebase of thin-film materials and
ultra-lightweight structures to support NASA’s scientific
and technological needs;
-
Single location for data on existing,
in-development and research materials and adhesives;
-
Materials data, manufacturing methods,
materials processing and joining technologies included;
-
Knowledgebase will be upgradeable to
include additional materials.
