TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP -
Neutral External Contamination
The Neutral External Contamination Working
Group develops and integrates the technical
activities associated with space contamination.
Space-related contamination is the presence of molecular or
particulate matter on spacecraft surfaces and systems which
may detrimentally impact the planned operations of the
mission.
The American Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer
(completely cleaned before final packing) being passed from
American to Soviet hands for final mating to the Russian
Meteror-3 Spacecraft.
