ORBITAL PARTICULATE TRAJECTORY
MODEL (OPT)
Description:
The Orbital
Particulate Trajectory Model (OPT) was constructed around the
JPL orbital trajectory program, Artificial Satellite Analysis
Program (ASAP). OPT was developed to provide a means of
predicting the motion of released particulates as a function
of time relative to the spacecraft coordinate system as well
as in an Earth centered coordinate system. OPT is useful in
determining particulate recontact potential based on
particulate release conditions, and for determining the
location of particulates in instrument fields-of-view as a
function of time.
